The Wisconsin ATV Association & Dairyland Cycle Insurance is proud to announce the recipients for the new Loyalty Grant program! The grants were awarded at the Wisconsin ATV Association’s annual meeting which was held April 15th – 17th at the Grand Lodge Resort in Rothschild WI.

The funds were made available from Dairyland Cycle Insurance as a way to give back to the men and women who keep our sport alive and growing in Wisconsin. Along with the Wisconsin ATV Association, Dairyland Cycle Insurance understands the constant need for club funding to keep our trails open and sport growing.
New for 2011 is the club loyalty grant program, which is fueled by referrals for quotes on your club members insurance on ATVs & UTVs. By calling Dairyland Cycle Insurance, you can earn $10 per quote towards your club. Should your members decide to proceed with the quote; National Motorsports Services will be the managing agency for any new policies. This is a no pressure quote program! The funds will be awarded each year at the WATVA Annual Meeting.

To kick off the program, Dairyland Cycle Insurance awarded a $1,000, $500 and two $250 grants at this year’s annual meeting. The winners were picked from applications submitted to WATVA prior to the meeting. One $250 grant was given as a drawing the day of the award presentation.

Forest Service requests motorized trail users to delay riding until May 10, 2011
RHINELANDER, Wis. (April 27, 2011) -- The U.S. Forest Service is asking the public to voluntarily delay using motorized trails on the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest until May 10, 2011.

Although the trails officially open May 1, late spring weather conditions make trails prone to erosion and other damage, explained Catherine Pinegar, Forest Recreation Planner.

“As everyone in Wisconsin knows, it has been a long winter and late spring in the state. Because of this we are asking motorized trail users to refrain from riding on the Forest’s motorized trails until May 10,” she said.

Forest officials expect all trail surfaces to be frost free and sufficiently dry by May 10, she said.

“This is a completely voluntary action and we hope the public will use good judgment and help us protect their trails from potential damage during spring thaw and reduce costly trail repairs and maintenance,” added Forest Supervisor Paul Strong. “We welcome motorized trail
users back and we ask that they honor their sport and the National Forest by riding responsibly.”

Riders need to be aware that towns continue to allow ATVs on certain town jurisdiction gas tax roads. In addition, riders should check with county and state managed trail offices and websites for any trail closures.
