Lakewood's Resort Gets Huge Grant

A grant for 163-thousand dollars was presented to the Lake Woods resort in Cable, Wisconsin today.

The resort applied for the grant that would convert their old boiler system into a more environmental friendly and cost effective system, buy using pellets.

The change will save the resort 72-thousand dollars in just the first year of converting.

If you are willing to convert, you were eligible for the grant.
Out of 14 applicants, the Lake Woods Resort was number one, giving them the largest grant available.

Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Tourism, Stephanie Klett, says this change will have a positive impact on the economy.

"It's also going to help the local economy because you can buy the wood burning pellets here locally. There are pellet dealerships and manufactures in Cable and Hayward, so it's going to help the local economy as well," Klett says.

The Lake Woods resort has been around for 103 years and has been owned by the Rasmussen family for over five-generations.
