6th Annual Red Arrow ATV/UTV Parade & Corn Roast was Huge Success

Saturday of Labor Day weekend was a great day in Townsend!  At 10:30 about 135 ATVs & UTVs let by Parade Marshall Annetta Janda lined up at Townsend Shell to parade north. Their destination was Barb’s Valley Inn to kick off the 6th Annual ATV/UTV Parade & Corn Roast sponsored by Red Arrow Snowmobile ATV Club and Barb's Valley Inn.  The warm sunny day was ideal for a large turnout of machines and the Oconto County ATV/UTV Parade record was again broken.

The huge crowd spent a warm, sunny early fall afternoon under a huge white tent enjoying raffles, DJ music and lots of good food and corn. Just after 6PM the raffles were concluded and winners were drawn for the main raffle prizes and an autographed football donated by the Green Bay Packers. The winner of the 50” Flat Screen TV from Forest TV in Lakewood was Matt Lasecki of Mountain, the $250.00 gas prize from Townsend Shell was won by Carl Vanderveren of Townsend and the gun from Pintsch’s Hardware was won by Don Johnson.  The $50.00 gift certificates from Lakewood Super Valu, Sunset Resort and Mikes Supermarket were won by Fred Paulus, Dave Pitterle, John O’Reilly, Paul Crowe, Amanda Diedrick and Gene Dunsirn. The four $25.00 gas cards from Townsend Shell went to Stan Sefcik, Jax Kordus, Red Klingman and “Kurt” of area code 262. Finally, the lucky winner of the autographed Packer football was Jeff Jesinski of Milwaukee.

After the raffle drawings were concluded Little Vito and the Torpedoes took to the stage at 7PM for an evening of live entertainment featuring great rock and roll from the 1950’s to the present. They were back at the event for the 2nd straight year and again “rocked the house” all night long.

Club President John Brantmeier wants to express a great big thank you to all those who attended as well as club members and friends who worked so hard to make this a successful event.  Also thanks to Rob & Kim Seebers of Townsend Shell for organizing the parade, to Johnsonville Sausage for the meat donations, the Townsend Police Department and the Townsend Flowage Association.

Jim & Barb Majestic, owners of Barb’s Valley Inn again went over the top to provide a great venue. Red Arrow cannot thank them enough for their support of this event and their yearlong support of the club. Look for the bar/restaurant with the snowmobile (and now ATV) on the roof just north of Townsend.    A very nice event profit will help the Red Arrow Snowmobile ATV Club maintain their record of having some of the finest snowmobile and ATV/UTV trails in this part of the state.
